Primrose Pandas are Respectful, Responsible and Safe |
Dear Primrose Families, Teacher Appreciation Week-Thank you for the outpouring of support for our amazing teachers and staff this week. We have such a wonderful school community here where we truly look to lift and support one another which not only gives our students a strong example to follow, but also sets a tone for success and collaboration. Special thanks to the TAW subcommittee-Cat Leigh, Megan Lavigne, Heather Magnussen, and our PTO board for all the work behind the scenes to make this week extra special. Physical Education and Health Week-So happy to see that so many parents were able to come and observe and join in the fun in our classes this week. Mr Gesmondi and Mrs Lewis work hard to ensure that our students learn a wide range of activities, use proper form and have a strong understanding of how self care and health is imperative to growth and well being. Preschool Presentation to School Committee-I am grateful for the invitation from our School Committee to come to this week’s meeting and share our program with them and with the community. Our team is passionate about ensuring that our youngest learners are given high quality experiences and that we are meeting the mandates and expectations for special education. Thanks to Susan Constable and Karen Igoe for joining me in the presentation. Testimonials from our families and our students were especially touching-thank you! Calendar notes: May 10th is a professional development day for our preschool and a parent engagement day for grades 6-12. Elementary students will have a full school day, as usual. Please be sure to mark your calendar for these school wide events.
Classes and grade levels are planning additional events with our students so please be sure to watch your email, backpack express and Seesaw to stay up to date with all of our end of the year events and learning experiences. Educationally yours, Coleen Smith |
The College of Management at the University of Massachusetts Boston is VERY grateful for the over 30 Kindness Bags that include essentials and notes of encouragement made by Mrs Chappelle’s kindergarten class. Special thanks to Katie Almeida Spencer for partnering with Mrs Chappelle and her students to create these thoughtful additions for their event. A great example of how service projects for the community and making an impact can start at a young age. |
Green Squad-Thank you so much for supporting our Clothing Drive-- both for giving generously AND for helping us to load up at the end of the afternoon on Friday. That was some heavy lifting; we collected, bagged and donated 980 lbs of clothes! Our students did a nice job sorting and applying what they’ve learned about what is and is not recyclable in the realm of textiles. We did reserve a few non-recyclable items which were in condition too compromised for charitable donation. We are reworking these materials into pennants and banners (gonfalon) for the Medieval Art themed Family Fun/ Fine Arts Night. |
