Good morning,
Here’s this week’s Backpack Express. Happy Reading!
Rock Your Socks: To honor Down Syndrome Day on Friday of this week, it’s time to Rock Your Socks. Everyone can wear some cool socks to show off on this day.
PTO/Arts Alive Play: If your second or third grader is participating in our upcoming play, here’s some information:
Auditions are today after school until 4:30. We have a list of participants so you will not need to send a note to school indicating your child is staying on Wednesdays for play auditions and rehearsals. (If your child is called on a Monday, you will need to send a note in to school to your child’s teacher.)
Volunteers are needed for each week to check in students, check out students, and to help with supervision. If you are able to volunteer, please sign up here.
Yearbook Boosters: Want to congratulate your child on a successful year? Want to thank a special adult at Sowams? The boosters are the way to do it! Boosters are on sale March 3rd through March 21st. THE DEADLINE IS THIS FRIDAY. More information about the boosters can be found here.
Parent Survey: In previous emails, a link to the RI Department of Education Survey Works survey was sent out. Please take a few minutes to complete this survey. You may access the survey here. Currently 50 families have taken the survey. Your feedback is important so please make sure you participate in this survey.
No School: Please remember, there is no school on Monday, March 24, 2025, due to a professional development day. There is also no school on Monday, March 31, 2025, in honor of Eid Al-Fitr.
Hampden Meadows School Tough Tiger: HMS has their big fundraiser coming up on May 18, 2025. It is the Tough Tiger. This event is a lot of fun for the whole family. More information about Tough Tiger and how to sign up may be found here.
Barrington Education Foundation: BEF’s largest fundraiser has officially kicked off and we are asking for community support in helping to advance our mission of championing extraordinary educational opportunities in the Barrington Public Schools. Your generosity will help BEF grant innovative, educational teacher programs and initiatives in 2025 and beyond! Thank you so much! Information on giving may be found here.
Nayatt’s 5K: The Nayatt PTO is thrilled to announce that registration is open for the 2025 Nayatt 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run. This year's event will be held on Saturday, April 5th. We are excited to get everyone out of winter hibernation for a morning filled with community and family fun! In addition to the 5K and 1 mile run, there will be a 50-yard dash, raffle baskets, on-site sponsor activities, and DJ! By using this link below you can register today!
Barrington High School After Prom: Please Support Barrington AfterProm's largest fundraiser of the year - our Online, Silent Auction! Item bidding is now open. We have wonderful items for you to bid on from artwork and jewelry to overnight stays, luggage, local services and more! Each year, our entire Barrington community plays a pivotal role in keeping our seniors and their guests safe on a high-risk evening.
